Metaprism is a collaborative work developed with architect Madhav Raman and exhibited at Shrine Empire, Delhi, in 2021. The work emerged from an initial conversation around an immediacy of enquiring material, technologies and media. The collaboration brought forth our shared interests towards engagement with geometrical forms and light, elaborate material explorations and spatial conditions of architectural sites, rooted within our individual practices.

Constructed using laminated glass, mirror, glue, and plywood base, Metaprism explores geometrisation of light by forming a pure material binary between the transparent and the reflective. Glass and mirrors operate not simply as materials of construction here, but hold the capacity for ‘phenomenological reflexivity’. They possess an agency to anchor the viewer and shift the focus from object to subject. Thereby allowing the exhibition site itself to become part of the work while simultaneously fragmenting and reconfiguring it, through site-specific spatial, geometric and volumetric configurations.
