Extending the Line is an ongoing exploration of light, space and perception through photography, drawing and installation. The series began in 2013 during a residency at Space 118 in Mumbai, where I became interested in the temporary spatial forms created by the interaction of natural and artificial light. These photographs focus on moments when light and shadow produce geometric configurations across walls, floors and ceilings. By isolating these transient conditions, the images transform ordinary architectural spaces into ambiguous compositions that resemble drawings or constructed forms.

Over time, the photographs became a starting point for drawings. By extending fragments of lines onto the surrounding paper, the empty space of the page became an active field where architecture could continue to unfold beyond what was visible in the image.

Later, the installation emerges from a desire to continue the photographs and drawings beyond their fixed frames. Lines extend into space, creating a subtle relationship between image, wall, thread and shadows, exploring how space is perceived rather than represented.
