Industrial Paint on Aluminium
The work is a series of imaginative three-dimensional architectural drawings developed from the square as a foundational surface, and exploring form and space. Through cuts, folds, and material precision, it explores how subtle interventions in architecture can reshape the entire experience of a surface. Here, the drawing becomes a physical encounter with the space itself. Fabricated in aluminum, the sculptures employ use of gloss black with gold on matte black surface, to reveal themselves differently as they dynamically respond to the movement and direction of light in the exhibition space. The viewer’s movement therefore becomes integral to activating the work, as the perceived form, colour, and light continually keeps shifting in relation to the viewpoint. In the due process, the body of work becomes a continual visual transformation where the formal composition is experienced through movement and perception.
